Caring for your skin before a boudoir session
When you are having a boudoir photoshoot it is a good idea to think about your skin. We always want our face to look and feel its best, but a few other reasons may be:
1. Looking its best for you helps improve how you feel about yourself.
2. Helps make your makeup look smooth and at its best.
3. Helps in the post-editing of your photos.
4. It is a healthy and natural way of taking care of yourself.
Water ๐ฐ is good for your body in that it lessens wrinkles, improves skin complexion and combats issues like eczema and psoriasis, clears acne, makes pores smaller, and moisturizes the skin.
1-2 cups๐ถof water before a boudoir photo session ๐ท will help you feel hydrated, but stop your skin from holding water under the skin that may make you look bloated. Too much water can have the opposite effect on what your body looks like.
One item to watch before your boudoir experience is Sodium ๐ง. Sodium has been known to be a subconscious water buildup machine. Sodium holds water which makes the skin look puffy. Limiting salt intake and processed food can assist in looking and feeling slimmer. A great way to eliminate excess water is through sweating. There are many ways to bring on a sweat. Light-heavy workouts, saunas, brisk walks, and more.
Natural Addiives
Ginger and lemon ๐ are a few natural items I like to incorporate into my daily use. I use them in water throughout my day. They have been known to be a natural diuretic (help you pee, eliminate water and sodium ).
Ginger
Ginger helps reduce inflammatory, soothes irritated skin, and improves skin appearance. Ginger has antioxidants that help preserve the skin's collagen naturally.
Lemon
Lemons have vitamin C and antioxidants that help in the appearance of aging skin and skin damage. For those that have oily skin, lemons ๐ can help with drawing out those oils too. Over time lemons can help brighten and lighten the skin.
In order to have your skin looking its best for your boudoir shoot, water is highly encourage, but even if you are not having a photoshoot water is so good for your health and should be a part of your daily routine. Did you get your water in today?
