Tanning Before Your Boudoir Session
As the seasons change, it goes from those warm days to cool, maintaining that perfect tan gets harder. During the winter, many turn to tanning beds or spray-on tans. Whichever you fancy, you must ensure a reasonable amount of time has passed after tanning before you decide to do a photo shoot.
Depending on the clothing you wear outdoors, one can form tan lines just from being out and running errands (grocery shopping, clothing shopping, window shopping). These tan lines tend to show up when doing a boudoir photoshoot. Therefore, if you tan, a light tan of some sort is recommended to hide these lines. Tan lines cannot always be edited out. Having a, somewhat, even skin tone helps post-production of your portraits.
Light spray tans typically last up to 5 days, and medium sprays last about 7-10 days. If you are tanning before your session, I recommend tanning about 2-3 days before a session, and this helps to get an even skin tone and prevents noticeable peeling or rubbing off of your tan.
